STIIX assists Marana USD in innovative summer program!
STIIX is honored to have served our friends at Marana Unified School District ( https://www.maranausd.org/) these past few months in their district-wide Summer Success programs.
Ms. Denise Linsalata and Ms. Lydia Corona, who lead their ‘State & Federal Programs’ team, reached out in May 2021 to inquire about our grades 6-8 STEM curriculum offerings.
Their team put together an innovative program that offered both a June and July session. The sessions spanned two weeks each, and in a typical day, students got the chance to attend multiple unique class periods, including STEM! With all of the moving parts surrounding the educational landscape over the past year, MUSD teachers needed an easy to administer and engaging program that promoted the infamous ‘Engineering Design Process’.

Throughout the summer, ~760 middle school-aged students have been interacting with an assortment of signature STIIX kits. We designated our Boat & Rocket units for the 6th graders, Catapult & Glider projects for 7th, and finally, the 8th graders engaged with the Race car & Bridge activities.
